Lot Description
Group of Powder Horns & Flasks
Lot includes three powder horns ranging in length from 5.25" to 9", all three with carvings including the initials HJ, the date 1777 over the initial A on the plug of the smallest horn, and the largest carved with the profile of a Native American War Chief, possibly Sitting Bull, with the text ASA/CROWE/STARKVILLE/N. YORK. All horns have wood plugs retained by iron tacks. Also included is one 4.5" powder flask with embossed eagle, and a leather shot pouch that appears to have been stuffed with marbles.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
