Lot Description

Group of 19th Century US Military Accoutrements

1.) McKeever Cartridge Box. 6.5" x 1.5" x 4.25". Black leather cartridge box with ten varnished canvas loops and an internal bulge for the tool with riveted and stitched belt loops. Interior struck MCKEEVER'S PATENT/JUL 10 1873,/J.H. WILSON maker mark with the outer face featuring embossed circled N.G.P. mark for the National Guard of Pennsylvania.

2.) Model 1885 holster with belt. Holster measures 12.25" in length and features a belt loop retained with stitching and three brass rivets, with a brass stud to secure the flap, and two holes to flap. Item comes with a leather belt with cast US belt plate.

3.) 1864 Cartridge Box. 8" x 6.75" x 2.25". Black leather cartridge box with flap cover showing embossed US mark, belt loops retained with stitching and rivets, twin tin magazines, and a brass stud to secure the flap. Outer flap struck in the lower right corner G.J. WOODSBURY/U.S./ORD. DEPT./SUB INSPECTOR. Closure tab has torn off.

4.) Cavalry Carbine Cartridge Box with 18 cartridge holes. 7.25" x 4" x 2". Cartridge box composed of black leather and mounting a wood insert with 18 ports for carrying cartridges. The number 160. is painted along the right side of the box. Mounts a leather belt with sand cast {US Eagle} belt plate.

5) Two (2) US M1887 Rifle Slings.
