Lot Description
Group of 3 US Military Belts
1.) Sam Browne Belt with nickel silver sword hangar, a size 36 shoulder strap, and size 34 belt. Maker mark to the belt reads DEHNER'S/OMAHA, with a nearby retailer sticker for Bravo & McKeegan/Stockton, Calif. Sword hangar loop is stamped SOLID/NICKEL SILVER/RUSTPROOF.
2.) American Indian Wars Era Infantry Officer's Dress belt with four rows of gilt lace over blue silk facing mounting a matching two-piece sword suspension and cast model 1851 belt plate displaying the {Spread Wing Eagle} within olive branches and below a banner reading E PLURIBUS UNUM. Belt is black leather with stitched facing. Maker mark struck in the leather liner reads GRAND ST/J.H. MCKENNEY & CO/NEW YORK. J.H. McKenney & Co. gradually took over the older Baker & McKenney military gods starting 1863, and advertised extensively from 1872 onward. Financial difficulties would see the company eventually absorbed by Ridabock & Co.
3.) American Indian Wars Era officer's sword belt featuring four rows of gold lace spaced with red silk, a black leather liner, two-piece sword mount, and a stamped belt plate. Belt plate displays a {Spread wing eagle} below banner with the national motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. Belt struck with size 38 mark on interior.
