Lot Description
Puma Waidblatt and Nicker Vom Waidbesteck Knife Set in Sheath
8.7" and 4" blade lengths. 15" overall with sheath and hilts. Pair of single edged knives set in German Silver hilts with staghorn grip scales secured by triple fasteners and full tang hilt construction. Larger knife features an unsharpened false edge with the blade widening to 2" near the tip, while the smaller features a drop point with grasping grooves along the back of the blade. Larger knife is etched with maker marking ORIGINAL-PUMA-WAIDBLATT/NACH OBERFORSTMEISTER FREVERT/BEST. NO. 3588-GERMANY-HANDARBEIT, indicating it to be a Forester's knife crafted by hand in the style of those preferred by Walter Frevert. Smaller knife marked ORIGINAL-PUMA NICKER VOM WAIDBESTECK/NACH OBERFORSTMEISTER FREVERT/INOX-BEST. NO. 3588 1/2-GERMANY-HANDARBEIT. Comes with a black leather sheath designed to fasten both knives in place and featuring a belt loop.
