Lot Description
[WORLD WAR II]. Sterling cigarette case with US Naval Academy devices for 1923, 1924, and 1926.
Approx. 3 x 4 in., marked Sterling on the clip, plus marks for R. Blackinton & Co., North Attleboro, MA. Front with “HHP,” a naval academy class crest for 1923, eagle on anchor with 1926 date (no ship’s wheel), an eagle on furled sails with crossed swords, USNA on topsail, 1924 on lower one. On verso is the Naval Academy coat-of-arms. Inside front is engraved “Harry H. Pottle / Dec. 25, 1935.”
