Engraved card: "General and Mrs. Benjamin Harrison acknowledge very gratefully your kind congratulations upon the birth of their daughter, Elizabeth." Caroline Harrison died of tuberculosis Oct. 25, 1892. In 1896 Harrison married Caroline's former secretary and niece, Mary Dimmick. The younger Mrs. Harrison and the former President had this one daughter in 1897.

At top, 1789, at bottom, 1889. Harrison was sometimes known as the "Centennial President" since his inauguration was 100 years after Washington's, which this card celebrates.
