4pp., folio, 11 1/4 x 18 in. Disbound (partial separation at centerfold, partial separation at some horizontal fold lines, toning, occasional spotting, chipping, some loss at edges and corners). Provenance: Library of Stephen Foreman (blindstamp on newspaper, p.3, lower right).
This newspaper features two inside-page columns providing detailed coverage of President-elect George Washington traveling to and arriving in New York City for his inauguration on the next day by the US Congress, which was sitting in the temporary capital city of New York. The issue offers details regarding Washington's last day's travel, as well as the greetings by the Congress and New York officials upon his arrival in the city for his inauguration.
