Antonio Zeno Shindler
six albumen photographs, each approx. 7 1/4 x 5 1/4 in., on original 10 x 8 in. cardstock mount with imprint of Addis Gallery, Washington, DC in lower margin. Manuscript notations in different hands on mount recto and verso. Originally taken by Antonio Zeno Shindler, ca 1867-1868, and printed ca 1867-1869 when Shindler was the proprietor and photographer at the Addis gallery.
Subjects include: Hu-sha-sha, "Red Legs" (Fleming, entry 36). -- Wa-Ka-Na, "The Sacred" (Fleming, entry 46). -- A-ki-ci-tan-na-jin, "Standing Soldier" (Fleming, entry 44). -- Wa-pa-sha, "Red Ensign" (Fleming, entry 33). -- Cho-tan-ka-si-di-na-pe, "The Flute Player" (Fleming, entry 34). -- Wa-ka-te, "The Shooter" (Fleming, entry 35).
