Sharps Model 1852 Slant Breech Saddle Ring Carbine
American Civil War
.54 caliber. 21.25" barrel. SN: 3773. Bright finish, brass furniture, smooth walnut stock with patchbox and smooth walnut forend. Single shot percussion breechloading dropping block carbine with Lawrence patent pellet priming system, folding "squirrel ear" rear sight, brass fixed blade front sight and 9" saddle bar with ring. Lock with weak 1852 Sharps patent marking, tang with weak 1848 Sharps patent marking and very weak barrel markings that are essentially illegible. Matching serial numbers on receiver tang, breech block, under barrel and in forend channel. {ANTIQUE}
