Atlanta, Georgia, January 27, (1965). Printed event program ("A Recognition Dinner honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr..."), boldly signed by Martin Luther King, Jr. on front wrapper. Bifolium, 9 x 7 in. (229 x 178 mm). 4 pp. Creasing from old folds; small tape abrasions and residue on front wrapper; scattered light soiling.

A fine signed program for Martin Luther King, Jr.'s sold out Nobel Peace Prize dinner in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Sponsored by the citizens of Atlanta, the dinner was an interracial event that attracted more than 1,500 people to Dinkler Plaza Hotel on January 27, 1965, and included speeches by committee members, Dr. King, and other prominent Atlantans, as well as performances by the Morehouse Glee Club. Dr. King was presented with an engraved crystal Steuben bowl, and the event concluded with an impromptu sing-a-long of “We Shall Overcome.”
