[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. 38 sixth plate ambrotype and tintype portraits of men, women, and children.
A charming ambrotype portrait of an older woman seated and holding a large album or volume up on her lap. A young boy, probably her grandson, stands next to her. (Image rather crisp, with some visible loss to emulsion/lacquer, and a few spots, spotting to preserver.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case (split at spine, surface wear/loss). -- Ambrotype seated portrait of a lovely woman wearing a fur coat and other rich accessories including gold-highlighted drop earrings and watch chain. (Spotting throughout image, but details of subject's face and some accessories remain rich and very crisp.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case (surface wear/loss/residue). -- European ambrotype portrait of a young lady posed before a colored backdrop, looking into the distance. (Some visible loss to emulsion/lacquer present to bottom portion, some chemical discoloration/spotting to edges.) Housed in a maroon leatherette case (surface wear). -- And 35 others.
