[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. 34 assorted daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, and tintypes featuring children.
Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of a young girl standing next to a cloth-covered table and surmounted by a vase with flowers. She wears a plaid off-the-shoulder dress and a choker necklace. (Significant tarnishing to edges and spotting throughout, with one chemical blotch to lower central portion of image.) Housed in a half pressed paper case (surface wear/loss). -- Sixth plate ambrotype portrait of a pair of young girls linking arms. (Image a bit dark, spotting, some wear/loss to emulsion.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case (split at spine, surface wear throughout, missing velvet pad). -- Sixth plate ambrotype portrait of a young girl wearing a dress finely hand-tinted in pink. ((Few spots, retains good contrast and clarity for the most part.) Housed in a half pressed paper case (surface wear). -- And 31 others, including 17 sixth plate daguerreotypes. Some without cases. Conditions vary. -- Together, 34 assorted daguerreotype, ambrotype, and tintypes ranging from sixth plate to sixteenth plate examples.
