[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. 23 sixth plate daguerreotypes of bearded gentlemen.
Bust portrait of a gentleman with sleek combed hair and a rather bush beard extending from ear to ear. (Some tarnishing and spotting throughout, clouding to glass; original seals.) Mat stamped "CHASE." Housed in a leatherette case (surface wear). -- Bust portrait of a fairly rugged-looking gentleman wearing an outdoor coat/jacket and having long hair combed effortlessly to one side. He looks directly into the camera. (Tarnish to edge with spots and other imperfections throughout; portion of original seal remains.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case (split at spine, heavy surface wear throughout). -- Up-close head-on portrait of a middle-aged gentleman with dark, thick beard, goatee, and mustache, and lightly-tinted cheeks. (Tarnishing and chemical wear to edges and clouding throughout; original seals.) Housed in a half pressed paper case. -- And 27 others. Some without cases. Conditions vary. -- Together, 30 sixth plate daguerreotypes of men with beards.
