8vo (210 x 127 mm). Half-title; 43 engraved plates by Hablot Knight Browne ("Phiz"), Robert William Buss, and Robert Seymour, including engraved frontispiece and additional engraved vignette title-page. (Browning to plates, tiny marginal repair to vignette title.) Modern red niger gilt, all edges gilt, gilt stamp-signed by Bayntun.
FIRST EDITION IN BOOK FORM, text with most of the first issue points listed in Smith, but this copy with signature E on p.25 (Smith found in only one copy). The plates are in mixed states per Hatton & Cleaver. Gimbel A15; Grolier English 78; Hatton & Cleaver, pp.34-88; Smith I:3.
