[FLAGS]. 13-star American flag. Ca late 19th-early 20th century.
Approx. 22 x 35 in. wool flag with 13 double-appliquéd cotton stars machine sewn to a wool canton, configured in single medallion with central star flanked by star in each corner. The field consists of 13 machine-sewn wool stripes. Hoist is cotton with two brass grommets.
Provenance: Purportedly displayed at Lavender Hall, Bucks County, Pennsylvania (with photographic snapshot of the restaurant enclosed).
