24 1/2 x 35 in. printed silk flag, 39 stars arranged in horizontal rows 6/7/7/6/7/6. Mounted to 27 x 38 in. canvas.
The nation never officially had 39 states as The Dakota Territory was admitted to the Union as North and South Dakota on the same day, 2 November 1889.
