Approx. 52 by 94 in. cotton flag with 38 double-appliquéd cotton stars machine sewn to a cotton canton, configured in an unusual pattern comprised of vertical rows 4/5/4/5/4/5/4/5, with one star added in each corner near the hoist end. The field consists of nine cotton, machine sewn stripes, the canton resting on a red stripe. The hoist is cotton.

The 38-stars commemorate the statehood of Colorado, which was admitted as the 38th state in August 1876 during the centennial celebration.

Provenance: Collection of Jeffrey Kenneth Kohn, MD.
