[CIVIL WAR]. Bloodletting kit with instruments by makers including Savigny & Co. and Weiss, London.
Wooden case with brass inlay including cartouche to lid bearing heart-shaped design and initials V. R. I., overall 10 x 7 x 4 in., with divided interior lined in velvet. Contains 17 pieces, including 12 glass cups, a glass vial, 2 scarificators (one marked "Savigny & Co," the other marked "Aitken"), a brass spirit lamp, and a brass syringe marked "Weiss / 62 Strand / London." Also included are fabric protectors for each glass cup, two small flat brass pieces of unknown function, and a small wooden box.
