MORROW, Stanley J. (1843-1921), photographer. A group of 7 stereoviews documenting a staged encounter between Luther "Yellowstone" Kelly and a Sioux Indian.


7 stereoviews on cardstock mounts showing frontier scout Luther "Yellowstone" Kelly (1849-1928) engaged in mock combat with an unidentified Sioux Indian, each with S.J. Morrow's Yankton, Dakota imprint or ink stamp on mount recto or verso and printed or manuscript captions.

Scenes include: "Setting traps for beaver." -- "Kelly examining Indians Trail." -- "Indian discovers Hunters trail." -- "The Alarm." -- "Hand to Hand." -- "Death Stroke." -- "Trophy of Victory."
