BARRY, David F. (1854-1934), photographer. Two cabinet cards of Lakota Chief John Grass. Bismarck, Dakota.
2 cabinet photographs of John Grass taken during the same sitting, each with Barry's Bismarck, Dakota imprint on mount recto and/or verso and applied paper label identifying the subject.
Many think Lakota Chief John Grass was the mastermind behind the victory at the battle of the Little Bighorn. At the death of Sitting Bull he became the principal chief of the Hunkpapa.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
