GARDNER, Alexander (1821-1882), photographer. Albumen photograph of Slow Bull, Ta-Tan-Kah Hun-Ki-Sh-Neh. Washington, DC.
5 1/4 x 4 in. albumen photograph, tipped on ornately scrolled Blackmore Museum mount, 12 x 10 in., ca 1870. A studio portrait of Slow Bull, aka Ta-Tan-Kah Hun-Ki-Sh-Neh, with feathers in his hair, wearing a hide warrior shirt, a neck tie and a bone breast plate. Lower margin of mount with credit to A. Gardner, Washington, DC, and imprint, "Photographed by Trustees of Blackmore Museum, Salisbury, England."
