Lot Description
[LINCOLN, Abraham (1809-1865)]. Lincoln and Hamlin 1860 campaign ferrotypes. [With:] Miniature portrait of Lincoln.
2 campaign ferrotypes displayed together in 3 1/4 x 4 3/4 in. case, including:
Brass and ferrotype token, image approx. 13 mm dia., token 25 mm dia. Obverse with ferrotype image of a beardless Lincoln, reverse lacking portrait of candidate Hannibal Hamlin. Each side stamped with the candidate's name and "1860." (Two small white specks on Lincoln ferrotype, which appear to be on the surface of the image and not damage to the plate; Hamlin portrait not included.)
Brass and ferrotype token, images approx. 12 mm dia., token 25 mm dia. Obverse with ferrotype image of a beardless Lincoln, reverse with vice presidential candidate Hannibal Hamlin. Each side stamped with the candidate's name and "1860." (Some surface scratches to Lincoln portrait; surface loss to right edge of Hamlin portrait; some surface wear to token.)
[With:] Circular albumen portrait of Abraham Lincoln, approx. 2 1/8 in. dia., with printed information on verso that does not appear to relate to the image, which may have been produced for use campaign or memorial purposes. (Toning and some soiling to print; surface loss to verso.)
Together, 3 items, including 2 Lincoln and Hamlin 1860 campaign ferrotypes and an albumen portrait Lincoln.
