MADISON, James (1751-1831). Partly printed document signed ("James Madison"), as President, countersigned by James MONROE (1758-1831), as Secretary of State. 

One page, on vellum with scalloped top. Creasing and soiling. Faded seal to lower left. Housed in 18 1/4 x 23 in. modern frame, unexamined out of frame.

Ship passport, No. 57, for the schooner Courier, Robert Davis, Master or Commander of the burthen of 251 tons, mounted with 6 guns, navigated with 35 men.
