An Impressive Satsuma-Type Large Dish, Meizan Studio, Meiji Period
Meiji Period (1868-1912)

Richly decorated, depicting a Daimyo's procession, and various onlookers and porters within a landscape with a moated castle, hills in the distance, scroll and fret borders, the outer sides decorated with monkeys, cranes, shishi, and fish, underside with impressed potter's mark, possibly Taizan, and gilt seal mark Meizan sei.
