A Small Satsuma-Type Cabinet Vase, a Figural Miniature Vase, and a Miniature Bowl, All Yabu Meizan, Meiji Period
Meiji Period (1868-1912)
The body of the slender vase decorated with dense blossoms, the neck with various open fans; the figural vase with a boy clambering up one side, the body painted with monkeys (one in robes) and peaches, the exterior of the bowl with a continuous coastal landscape, the interior with two spiraling bands of butterflies and dense blossoms; undersides with gilt seal marks in double squares.
Height of Taller Vase: 4 1/8 in., 10.5 cm.
