A Painting of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan Astride His Stallion, India, Rajasthan, 20th Century

After the early 17th-century Mughal painting by Payag and Mir' Ali. Opaque pigments and gold on paper, depicting the emperor on horseback, his left hand holding the harness while his right hand bearing a spear, green ground behind, margins with black-outlined blue floral scrolls against an apricot ground.
Painting 10 x 7 1/2 in., 25.4 x 19.05 cm; Folio 11 3/8 x 8 7/8 in., 28.9 x 22.5 cm.
