Opaque pigments and gold on paper, the painting mounted onto the illuminated manuscript leaf; depicting the Emperor Jahangir seated, attended by his chauri-bearer, and four courtiers standing on a garden terrace; with gilt and colored animated hashiya, Persian inscriptions above the blue sky, raising his majesty and justice; the inner margins with a gilt foliate scroll pattern on dark blue ground, the outer margins with black-outlined and floral sprays.
Painting 8 5/8 x 7 in., 21.9 x 17.78 cm; Folio 17 5/8 x 11 3/4 in., 44.7 x 29.8 cm.
