Full crushed red morocco, tooled in gilt, joints lightly worn and corners bumped; all edges gilt; marbled endpapers; black morocco book plate of Robert Hoe on front paste-down; armorial book-plate of Sir William Gregory on verso title-page; scattered foxing to text.
Finely bound copy of English cleric Jeremy Taylor's third religious tract, from the library of Robert Hoe III (1839-1909), founding member and first president of the Grolier Club in New York City.
Sir William Gregory (1625-1696) was a British judge and Member of Parliament, serving as Chief Justice of the King's Bench from 1689 until his death.
