US Pattern 1851 Blackened Buff Sword Belt with Plate
American Civil War

Belt nominally 36" in overall length and 1.85" wide, currently adjusted to about a 35" waist. The belt is mounted with a cast brass 1851 pattern sword belt plate with applied German silver wreath. Belt plate and keeper with matching mating number 366. Belt is complete with brass hardware and two adjustable sword hangers. The "Sam Browne" pattern cross shoulder belt is improvised from a post-Civil War musket sling style canteen sling.
