Lot Description

Pair of Restored Cast Brass Unmarked Spurs attributed to Leech & Ridgon
American Civil War

Pair of cast brass spurs that were used in Bill Beard's Lt. Box display. They are unmarked and have an applied "patina" that is paint like, suggesting the brass underneath has repairs. Probably a dug pair that were later restored. Crudely cut rusted iron rowels appear to be modern replacements that have been aged chemically. Spurs are not identical. One measures nominally 4.25" in length, exclusive of the rowel and slightly less than 3" wide, while the other measures 4.5" in length and slightly more than 3" wide.
