1st Model Bacon Pocket Revolver
American Civil War
.31 caliber. 4" octagonal barrel. SN: 290. Blued finish, color casehardened hammer and loading lever, smooth two-piece walnut grips. Single action percussion pocket revolver with ball detent retains toggle link loading lever, lightly engraved frame, fix-chambered unfluted cylinder with roll engraved panel scenes, hammer nose notch rear sight and brass cone front sight. Two line barrel markings reads BACON MANUF'G CO/NORWICH, CT. Matching numbers. About 1,000 of these first model Bacon Pocket revolvers were produced to compete with the Colt 1849 Pocket, circa late 1850s-to-mid-1860s. {ANTIQUE}
