Three Indian War Era Edged Weapons
Indian Wars
1) US Model 1873 Trowel Bayonet with Scabbard. 10" bright spade shaped blade with prominent median ridge on rear, 3.5" blued socket. Standard patent marking on socket. Bayonet includes a reproduction wood handle for use as a trowel or spade. The bayonet is accompanied by its leather scabbard with Hoffmann style swivel belt frog with a US roundel.
2) US Model 1873 Trowel Bayonet. 10" bright spade shaped blade with prominent median ridge on rear, 3.5" blued socket. Standard patent marking on socket. Bayonet includes a reproduction wood handle for use as a trowel or spade. No scabbard is present.
3) US Model 1873 Entrenching Tool with Scabbard. 8" bright blade with turned wood grip with 17 grasping grooves. Grip marked US. Includes leather covered metal scabbard with brass throat that is also marked US.
