Remington Beals Navy Revolver
American Civil War
.36 caliber. 7.5" octagonal barrel. SN: 991. Blued finish, color casehardened hammer, brass triggerguard, two-piece smooth walnut grips. Single action percussion revolver with un-fluted six-chambered cylinder, topstrap groove rear sight and German silver cone front sight. Two line Beals' patent marking that reads BEALS' PATENT SEPT. 14, 1858/MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTON'S ILION, NY. Matching serial numbers under barrel and on lower left of grip frame under grips and in weak pencil in the grips. Cylinder unnumbered but marked on the rear face with three punch dots as a mating mark, with three dots on the cylinder arbor as well. {ANTIQUE}
