Lot Description
WW1 USMC 5th Regiment 1st Battalion Uniform with Pants
World War I
Lot includes a matching United States Marine Corps wool tunic and trousers, the tunic mounting the {Indian Head/Red Diamond} for the 5th Regiment 1st Battalion. This tunic features the iconic deep green color of uniforms made expressly for the Marine Corps, and lacks the later collar buttons that the Marines adopted to help distinguish their uniforms from the Army when they were compelled to adopt the 1917 tunic. Also included are a khaki canvas tunic and trousers featuring one intact Marine Corps {Eagle, Globe, and Anchor} collar button, and mounting {Eagle/Anchor} buttons down the front. Finally, the lot includes one OD green wool garrison cap with USMC button.
