Non-Functional Antique Cone-Hammer Mauser C96 Commercial Proofed
World War I

7.63x25mm. 5.5" barrel length. SN: 8636. (Mfg. ca 1897) Blued metal finish with straw and nitre blued small parts mounting horizontally serrated walnut two piece grips, and adjustable tangent rear notch and front blade sights. Short recoil operated single action autoloading pistol fed by an internal box magazine charged with stripper clips. Item features the early style cone hammer and firing pin retaining plate seen on antique Mauser pistols with a rear sight graduated from 50 to 500 meters. Upper barrel flat shows maker mark reading WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF A/N, with further marks including the {Double Crown/U} to left barrel, and on lower bolt. Serial numbers match throughout, including on grip panels and firing pin. Pistol retains the lanyard loop to butt, and the stock mounting cut. Comes with an incomplete non matching buttstock/holster. Stock mounting bracket is numbered 10897. Stock is missing the screw for the mounting bracket, and half of the buttplate. {ANTIQUE}

WARNING: Extensive pitting on the right flank of the handgun calls its structure into question. Item must be inspected by a qualified gunsmith before attempting to shoot.
