Lot Description
**WWI Era 1916 Dated DWM Luger with Non-Matching Holster
World War I
9mm Para. 3.9" barrel length. SN: 4611b. Blued metal finish with straw colored trigger and Nitre blued small parts, and polished internal surfaces mounting checkered walnut grips and standard military pattern sights. Short recoil operated striker action autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Standard markings include DWM logo to toggle link and 1916 date to the forward slide. Further shows a GESICHERT safety marking on frame and GELADEN loaded indicator mark on the extractor. Serial numbers match on the handgun, but it comes with a non matching WWI period magazine with wood base plug and nickel finished body. Serial number to base plug reads 4532a followed by + sign indicating it was a spare. The breechblock, barrel, and slide are all struck with the WWI German {Reichsadler} marking, with the latter component also showing three Gothic letter inspection stamps. Letter K struck into the frame forward of the triggerguard. Barrel gauge reading of 8,82 struck into the lower surface. Item comes with a WWII pattern black leather holster with markings obscured by a riveted leather adapter allowing it to attach to an American Mills style belt. Additionally accompanied by a G.Appel/1938 marked K.98 rifle cleaning kit, Luger disassembly tool, and two custom gun cases. One case, possibly intended for a Luger carbine, features a Nizzoli maker mark, and a maroon velvet lining. The other case is canvas wrapped with leather corners, and appears to have been sized for a C.96 pistol. {C&R}
