Blued finish with polished bolt mounting straight wrist birchwood stock with full length handguards and mounting stock escutcheon to forend but without one to butt, and stamped spring retained barrel bands. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle charged with stripper clips and mounting a PU scope to Soviet side mount. Barrel shank shows the {Arrow in Triangle} stamp of Izhevsk with a production date of 1943 below the Soviet {Sickle and Hammer} stamp. Mounts standard post and globe front and tangent rear notch sights, the latter adjustable from 100 to 2000 meters. Right barrel shows a weak marking, possibly the circle C for an Izhevsk sniper grade barrel. Left shank lacks scope number markings typically encountered on sniper rifles. Has a bent down bolt handle. Serial numbers match on barrel shank, bolt, and magazine floorplate. OK repair depot mark to stock with the barrel shank showing further repair depot marks including 7 in a circle and the boxed Arsenal no. 7 mark. Item comes with a PU scope showing the {Sickle and Hammer in Pentagon} marking of Factory No. 297, which began making PU scopes in March, 1943. Scope serial number is 439555, indicating the scope was made in 1944. Comes with leather lens protector. {C&R}
