Lot Description
Two US Military Bolos: (1) Model 1910 Bolo & Scabbard and (1) Model 1917 without Scabbard
World War I
1) 1910 Bolo by Springfield Arsenal, with Scabbard: 13.5" single edged bolo blade, 5.5" hilt, 19.25" overall. Wood grips with brass rivets, steel cross guard. Obverse ricasso marked U.S./8297 and reverse ricasso marked S.A./{Flaming Bomb}/1910. With brass mounted leather scabbard marked LADEW/1918/P.F.G. on the reverse.
2) 1917 Bolo by Springfield Arsenal: 10.25" single edged bolo blade with 4.5" hilt, 15" overall. Rough hew walnut grip panels, steel cross guard. Blade marked US/36941 on the obverse ricasso and SA/{Flaming Bomb}/1917 on the reverse. No scabbard present.
