Engraved Sharps Model 1A .22 Four-Barrel Pepperbox
.22RF. 2.5" barrel cluster. SN: 35034. No finish remaining on barrels, brass frame, floral motif gutta percha grips. Single action, spur trigger, rotating firing pin four barreled pepperbox pistol. Marked C. SHARPS PATENT 1859 in a circle around the hammer screw on the left side of the frame and C. SHARPS PHILADA. PA. around the screw on the right side of the frame. Matching serial numbers on the butt and bottom of the barrel cluster. Frame engraved with flowing foliate themes. Between 60,000 and 65,000 of these diminutive pocket pistols were produced by Sharps circa 1859 to 1874. {ANTIQUE}
