Lot Description

**Springfield Model 1903 Rifle 1911 Barrel
World War I

.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 460797. Blued metal arsenal refinish overall mounting walnut straight wrist stock with full length upper handguard. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle charged with stripper clips and mounting adjustable ladder rear notch and pinned front blade sights. Receiver marking reads U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903, and the barrel mark reads SA/{Ordnance Bomb}/5-11. Serial number corresponds to 1911 production. Stock has been sanded and shows a weakened circle P to the wrist and the boxed J.F.C. cartouche of James F. Coyle to the left wrist. Stock is struck ARMORY in three places on each side of the stock and numbered 95 behind the triggerguard. Trapdoor buttplate is void of tools. {C&R}
