Breechblock is marked U.S./MODEL/1873, while the lockplate is marked {Spread Winged Eagle} followed by U.S./SPRINGFIELD/1873. Left barrel shows V/P/{Eaglehead}/P marks along with additional R and I stamps. Wrist shows a circle P mark behind the tang with the left wrist showing the boxed SWP/1890 marking of inspector Samuel W. Porter.
