Rolling Block Alteration of a Civil War Rifle Musket Likely by Schuyler, Hartley & Graham

.58 CF. 39" barrel. NSN. Bright finish, iron furniture, walnut stock and forend. Alteration of a Civil War era M1863/64 musket to a breech loading cartridge rifle with a Remington Rolling Block action. Features include three solid rounded spring retained barrel bands, a US M1861 3-leaf rear sight, a combination musket pattern front sight and socket bayonet stud and sling swivels on the triggerguard bow and middle barrel band. Standard Remington tang markings. A script ESA cartouche is present on the reverse wrist but appears spurious. An incorrect tulip head ramrod is present. {ANTIQUE}
