US Model 1884 Springfield Trapdoor Cavalry Carbine
Indian Wars
.45-70 (.45-55). 22" barrel. SN: 344353 (mfg. ca. 1885-86). Blued and color casehardened finish, walnut stock. Single shot Trapdoor action cavalry carbine with M1884 Buffington rear sight with a "C" marked ladder, a pinned front sight in base, saddle bar and ring, low arch breech, 3-click tumbler, grooved trigger and two-piece triggerguard. Standard markings on breech block and lock wth a clear SWP/1886 cartouche on the counterpane and a {Circle-P} firing proof behind the triggerguard. Butt trap is void of cleaning rods and the door is bent. {ANTIQUE}
