Markings include matching serial numbers to the left barrel and frame. Lockplate is dated 1863 behind the hammer and further marked {Spread Winged Eagle} forward of the hammer with U.S./SPRINGFIELD. Breechblock is struck 1870/{Eaglehead}/US. Stock is circle P marked to the rear wrist with the counterpane displaying a weakened circled ESA cartouche of inspector Erskine S.
