Lot Description
One Sumatran Keris and Two Keris Sajen
1.) 8.75" barrel length. 13" overall with scabbard and hilt. Straight double edged wootz steel blade mounting a Jewa Demam style handle with brass Mendak. Blade appears much older than the furniture, and was likely remounted at some point. Scabbard is varnished.
2.) 9.5" barrel length. 13" overall with scabbard and hilt. Straight double edged wootz steel blade produced of one continuous piece with the hilt, which is shaped like a bowing figure. The Keris Sajen is the oldest form of keris, and these are used primarily for ceremony rather than as weapons.
3.) 4.75" barrel length. 6.675" with scabbard and hilt. Straight double edged wootz steel blade in the Keris Sajen pattern with the blade and hilt composed of a single continuous piece. Scabbard has some scattered light scratches and mars.
