Lot Description
Four Ethnographic Daggers
1.) 6.25" Nagasa (Blade length). 12.125" overall with Tsuka (Hilt) and Saya (Scabbard). Straight single edged Hira Zukuri style blade that has been roughly sharpened and polished mounting a carved bone Tsuka and Saya richly carved with well dressed figures in rural scenes.
2.) 7" blade length. 11.25" overall with scabbard and hilt. Straight single edged spearpoint blade with nonferrous metal plated scabbard and hourglass hilt. Hilt is wire wrapped, and the pommel further decorated with an embossed design. The scabbard features an elaborate dragon motif flowing along the obverse side.
3.) 4" blade length. 8.25" overall with scabbard and hilt. Straight single edged blade mounting bone and wood grip scales with brass pommel and bolsters with nonferrous metal and horn spacers. Comes in a wood scabbard that has been engraved with curved scabbard showing a curved toe and brass hilt.
4.) 4" blade length. 10.4" overall with scabbard and hilt. Straight single edged blade engraved with foliate scroll along the right blade and Arabic letters along the left barrel. The hilt is decorated with a horn handle enclosed by two overlapping serpents. Comes with leather sheath.
