Remington New Model Army Revolver
American Civil War

.44 caliber. 8" octagonal barrel. SN: 95708. Blued finish, brass triggerguard, two-piece smooth oil finish walnut grips. Single action percussion revolver with un-fluted six-chambered cylinder, frame groove rear sight and pinched blade front sight. Standard New Model three-line barrel address and patent information. Matching serial numbers stamped on left of frame under grip, under barrel and in pencil inside grips. As is typical of New Model Army revolvers, the cylinder is not numbered. Sub-inspected throughout, left grip with with a crisp script BH cartouche for civilian sub-inspector Benjamin Hannis who inspected many Remington contract arms during the American Civil War. {ANTIQUE}
