London: William Heinemann, 1912.4to, finely bound by Herbert Weitz of Weitz-Coleman (stamped NYC 1992) in full deep red crushed morocco, inset onlaid character portrait of the spider and gnat from Aesop's "Gnat and the Lion" fable (after Rackham's illustration facing p. 198, gilt illustration of the wolf and the crane on the rear cover, spine in six compartments decorated with gilt animals and black lettered in gilt, a.e.g., marbled endpapers, gilt ruled turn-ins, quarter morocco and black cloth slipcase. Limited edition, number 393 of 1,450 copies signed by Rackham. Profusely illustrated with tipped-in color plates.
