A Chinese Painted Watercolor Rug Salesman's Sample
EARLY 20TH CENTURY
the central roundel depicting a stag and a crane, flanked by two smaller roundels worked to show Buddhist symbols and archaistic scrolls, all amongst a chrysanthemum blossom, bat and lotus scroll worked ground within key fret inner border and lotus scroll outer border, bearing a U.S. Customs Panama-Pacific International Exposition Exhibit label and a torn label dated 1916.
