[CIVIL WAR]. Morning reports, general orders, and more from the Delery Collection.
Partly printed "Requisition for Clothing." Approx. 16 3/4 x 20 1/2 in. Col. Benjamin Jefferson Hill (1825-1880) requests jackets, pants, shirts, drawers, shoes, socks, and hats for his men after their hasty retreat from Dalton, Georgia, during the Atlanta Campaign. 34 soldiers are identified along with clothing drawn. Signed by Hill's adjutant and approved by Colonel B.S. Ewell, Adj. General to General Joseph Johnston.
[With:] Group of Morning Reports of Captain Alfred F. Sears, Co. E, New York Regiment of Volunteer Engineers, for the months of December 1863, and February, April and June 1864. -- "City Reliefs" Muster Roll of Co. G, 5th regiment of Maryland Volunteers, To the 14th November 1862 (heavy wear, tears, discoloration). Signed by William Louis Schley (1823-1898) as Colonel 5th Maryland Volunteers Commanding. --Disbound pages of clothing accounts for Co. G, 198 Pennsylvania Volunteers.
